This former caretaker's lodge, transformed into a studio, then uninhabited for several years, has remained in its original state.
The idea is to create a functional studio with character, and to take advantage of the generous volumes of this ground floor.
We chose to move the entrance to the apartment by reopening an old door and blocking the existing one. But also by adding an entrance via the interior courtyard of the building.
A double-height mezzanine accommodates the sleeping area as well as a large linear dressing room.
Custom-made furniture has been designed to meet the different needs of the apartment: a platform which gives access to the outside, storage, and a bench seat for the dining area.
The kitchen is optimized to accommodate all the necessary appliances. The comfortably sized bathroom has a beautiful walk-in shower. A glass roof between the kitchen and the bathroom brings a little natural light into this windowless space.
