This small secondary apartment required optimization of its space and renovation.
For the living space, the entrance partition was knocked down to enlarge the room and be able to install a dining table. The kitchen has been redone to be more functional and equipped. The staircase has been redesigned to blend in with a custom-made TV unit, thus offering more storage and space saving. This staircase furniture thus becomes a strong element of the apartment.
For the ground floor bedroom, no major work is required, we change the pocket door, we change the orientation of the bed for better circulation in the room, a custom-made headboard and some paints and floors. On the bathroom side, the shower needed to be larger, so we completely redid this space to optimize it.
Upstairs, the balustrade of the mezzanine was replaced by a glass roof for on the one hand more security, but also to let light through while phonetically partitioning the spaces more.
The mezzanine now accommodates an office space, a dressing room and a sleeping area.
The common thread for this apartment was to give it character, an identity. We certainly only come here for short periods of time or on vacation, but that does not prevent us from feeling at home there, quite the contrary.
